What Is NLP
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) describes the essential processes by which people perceive themselves and their environment, and then how they act and communicate.

The Development of NLP
NLP is the outstanding discipline within cognitive and behavioural sciences, explicitly and comprehensively dedicated to the study of human subjectivity. Drawing on the insights gained, NLP opens effective and flexible pathways for goal- and solution-oriented change. Neuro-Linguistic Programming is now used globally in coaching, consulting, psychotherapy, training, communication, management, education and sales.
NLP emerged in the 1970s in the USA, when John Grinder and Richard Bandler explored how the best communicators of their time taught their clients to handle change. Today, NLP is a far more complex method, offering everyone the opportunity to understand their internal processes better, access their own resources, and implement change successfully.
Studying Subjective Experience
People differ in their way of experiencing specific situations, themselves, others, their relationships, their professional activities, and everyday life. Depending on how we perceive ourselves and our environment, how we think, how we feel and how we evaluate those feelings, the same situation can be experienced as pleasant and beneficial, or as difficult and distressing. Based on studies and models of human perception and information processing, NLP makes us aware of the factors that guide our experience and how we create our experiences ourselves. Over recent decades, this has given rise to a wealth of behavioral models.
People study NLP for various reasons: to solve personal problems, boost performance, strengthen relationships with themselves or others, or simply enhance different aspects of their professional lives.
NLP training consists of several stages. All member associations recognise the current curricula in accordance with the statutes of EANLP e.V. Based on this recognition, member associations can use the EANLP seal in addition to their own national seal on final certificates. The EANLP seal stands for mutual international recognition of these NLP programs.
According to EANLP's training guidelines, these NLP programs — NLP-Basic, NLP-Practitioner, NLP-Advanced Master, NLP-Master, NLP-Trainer and Coach/Master-Coach — each require a minimum of 18 training days.
